LAYOUT DESIGN & COLLAGE PRINT | 2019

Black History Month began in 1976 to remember the important people and events in the history of African culture. People pay tribute to the generations of African-Americans who struggled with adversity to achieve full citizenship in American society. Even though many people celebrate black culture all year-round, February is the specific month of the year to GREATLY seize the opportunity to honor the too-often neglected accomplishments of black Americans in every area of endeavor throughout our history. I used this month to acknowledge those before me, those currently, and the ones who will come after. I believe that as a culture, a movement, everyone should be here to root for any and everyone black. THIS IS OUR MONTH. OUR TIME. OUR LIGHT. WE MATTER.

My collection features prints of notable African-Americans, such as Nina Simone, Taraji P. Henson, and much more. Each print features remarkable facts and achievements from blacks, who have paved the way for generations to follow.
